 The name Apex was formulated because its the highest point on the Chatham Railroad that runs between Richmond, VA and Jacksonville, FL. Established in 1867, the town of Apex is located in the southwestern Wake County. The town boasts a rich history while offering a relaxing small-town atmosphere with the convenience of big-city amenities.
In 2007 the town of Apex was named the 14th Best Place to Live in the USA by Money Magazine and was named North Carolina's #1 Small Town in economic vitality by Business North Carolina magazine.
